Self-pimpage meme!

Post a list of your top five favourite fics you've written, regardless of fandom or the reason you love them. This isn't about the best things you've written, but what you love most. Then tag five other people to do the same.
No one tagged me, but I wanna do this one. I tag everyone who's written five fics, hasn't been tagged and wants to do this meme :)
1. Devil's Deal , Smallville/DCU, long
This is still very recent, but I think that it might be the best fic I've written so far. It has passages where I let myself write as beautifully as I could and it has a simple but well-working plot, I like the characterization and I like the ending. It's a fic I'd love to read if someone else had written it.
2. I Am Here, Lord of the Flies, long
Yes, I wrote Lord of the Flies slash. This fic will always have a special place in my heart. It was the first fic I got a lot of feedback (at ff.net) for, and the first that was actually good. It was also my first long fic in English, and I can honestly say that writing this unlocked the English language for me. Summary: The children were never rescued and still live on the island four years after the plane crash. Ralph has gone mad during the hunt and is living as Jack's slave, while Jack struggles with growing up and being a good leader.
3. Foolish Man, Angel Sanctuary (Manga), short
Angel Sanctuary, as the title tells you, is a manga about angels. This fic could just as well be read as Religion fic, though, or original fic. It's about Lucifer, after he has defeated God. This is also a special story for me, because it's the only one my Mom has ever read - she found it while secretly looking at stuff on my PC and I was furious, because I was so embarrassed - but she loved it. She actually read it out loud in the kitchen to my Dad, even though they're divorced and his English is abysmal. The reason why this is so important: my Mom is a literary snob. She thinks TV shows are trash, manga are trash, Harry Potter is trash - but she liked this one. (God, I sound like I have horrible issues, don't I?)
4. In Essence Divided Harry Potter, novel-length
This is the first story where I had a good beta and the first that I didn't write as a ff.net teeny bopper (I had graduated to mugglenetfanfiction.com *lol*). It's the longest I've ever written, too. Oh, and I love this Tom Riddle :D
5. Protection, SV, long
Yeah, I love my long stories more than my short ones. It's about the amount of work that goes into them. I wrote this after a long spell of writer's block and depression and it was fun and fandom liked it :)
2. and 3. are unbetaed, and my English wasn't as good then, and it shows. Also, they're at the evil place - fanfiction.net :D

Date: 2007-03-18 01:09 pm (UTC)wo hast du dieses Gerücht gehört?
in what an AU world do you live ??
sv fandom , expecially clex, had always had the reputation of being full of arrogant bitches on high horses, we were pegged as cold and not welcoming at all XD
Re: you are kidding right? again :D
Date: 2007-03-18 03:54 pm (UTC)Huh. Well, since I've been in SV fandom, I've met a lot of really helpful people like you, I got great and intelligent feedback, I got recced, people gave me paid LJ time without expecting anything in return - wow. Okay, there was the wank, but that didn't concern me. And as far as I can tell, most of the BNFs have left the fandom.
Maybe I *do* live in an AU world, but if so, I don't wanna leave it :D
you cant win here *g*
Date: 2007-03-18 04:20 pm (UTC)so, most of us here don't deserve the title BNFs or what XD ??!!
hee, what do I know, I am just a BNR ;D
yeah, well, those stuff I said, were always rumours around , I mean, I am here for four years, and except a very few exceptions, everybody has been totally great to no end!
Re: you cant win here *g*
Date: 2007-03-18 05:15 pm (UTC)I meant the somewhat derogatory use of BNF, because you mentioned "arrogant bitches on high horses". There are lots of well known, popular fans in SV fandom, that's for sure, but I would call them BNFs, because while most of us would probably secretly love to be called a BNF, some people might also find it insulting.
For example, I could theoretically call you,
But my standards of BNFness - in a neutral, non-derogatory way - might be also be a little high. For me, real BNFs are fans like
But yeah, I have a talent for insulting people without meaning it.
what!!!!!!! *most*????
Date: 2007-03-18 05:34 pm (UTC)me, the BIG NAME RECCER?!?!?
grrr. hell of a job in RL is preventing my fannish fame!!!
must go and write more recs.....
(speaking of, I just recced your your seven soldiers.. to the ygroup).
and no, I don't prefer to be called secretly a BNR, I want public adulation and adoration and worshipness. where are all the nekkid men at my feets gifted to me by my minions!??!?
sighs...maria... she was my student, my pupil, the person I had planned to leave my legacy with , should I ever be forced to leave fandom for RL reasons... I was probably one of the first person, she lied to. that was two years ago. she had everything.
I truly think, she is ill.
I mean, I was ready to leave her the password to my theme clex recs! that was one week before the desaster in december.
sighs again.
you are actually right, all us three could be called BNF, though any of us is/were in fandom for different reasons.
we all do/did different things, and wanted different things out of this experience.
as much as I was there, when maria created her persona, my persona has been shaped by madelyn in my first delurking years.
(really, you have the most stupid questions, and you run to madelyn, and ask, and she will help).
I think, it all boils down to how you define BNFs.
if its in the writing sense, there is nearly no competition to astolat. I mean, her writing?
gift of the gods :D
Re: what!!!!!!! *most*????
Date: 2007-03-18 06:02 pm (UTC)Yeah, I guess when I think BNF, I first think of the writers, which isn't fair at all, because they're not the ones who keep fandom alive. That's the people who help newbies and manage coms and organize conventions and rec and have cool ideas for ficathons and all that. Writers are just people addicted to feedback :D

gift of the gods :D
Indeed. I don't know a better fanfic writer than her.
gift of the gods :D
Date: 2007-03-18 06:21 pm (UTC)and probably pru.
though , I have friends, who did not found access to seperis/jenns fics yet.
just as me, I have not found my access to Pru's fic.
I think, it really is a matter of timeframe, and the perfect inner readiness?
I mean, before ladyoneill came along, I rarely read het, but now I am addicted to chloe / lionel ficlet :)
speaking of which, I am going to prepare a rec post for chloe/lionel as well *g*
sighs, my rec lists and my promises are getting longer and longer...
Re: gift of the gods :D
Date: 2007-03-18 06:30 pm (UTC)seperis is also a great writer. And Rivkat (great vidder, too). And Te (
stupid questions
Date: 2007-03-18 06:08 pm (UTC)Heh. She really seems to have shaped you. You're definitely the person to ask about anything in SV fandom.
Oh, and thanks for reccing the fic - to the ygroup... which leads to another stupid question... which ygroup?
Re: stupid questions
Date: 2007-03-18 06:24 pm (UTC)the ygroup is here, its the equivalent to sv_inquiry, and is moderated by me and ladyphoenix

Date: 2007-03-13 08:06 pm (UTC)The history between Clark and Lex, as friends, as raging enemies, as tired and wary adversaries, the showdowns in the Oval Office... it gave such a sense of how much time has gone by for them, how much has happened.
The way Clark has been waiting for Lex to do something like this, so he can justify becoming part of Lex's life again, and how he was so happy, he couldn't let himself see what was really going on. That sex scene was just--wow.
The entire journey into hell--the descriptions, the wording, the pacing, all of it.
Kon! God, I *love* Kon, and I love fics where he reunites (so to speak) with Lex and Clark more than anything, and the characterizations, and the humor, and everything was just perfect!
And I *loved* the ending.

Thanks for commenting!
and btw, you are killing me!
Date: 2007-03-17 11:46 pm (UTC)I am saving all these links for tomorrow!
I loved lord of the flies from school!
never thought for it to look for slash though *g*
that must be rectified!
anything you had listed sounds great!!!
not a manga fan, but lucifer defeating god!!!
hell, yes :D
can I ask you a favor ?
Date: 2007-03-18 02:26 pm (UTC)4. In Essence Divided Harry Potter, novel-length
could I have these two as word files, if you have them, so that I can print them out, and read them, when I have more time?
I rather prefer not to have to put them together from ff.net to one big file, but I would love to read them.
thanks!

Date: 2007-03-22 12:06 am (UTC)I just found Devil's Deal on SSA and I wanted you to know that I absolutely loved it! You took everything that I love about Clex and put it in one fic, which is pretty much amazing!
I'm not good at reviews and I couldn't sum up all the things I liked about Devil's Deal, but my favorite part is how you incorporated all of Clark and Lex's history from Smallville, comics and toonverse! (It happens so that I'm re-watching Superman TAS right now and really in the mood for toon!Clex.)
And of course, I just love Kon. ;)))
Thank you for such an enjoyable read!
Mind if I keep an eye on you? ^^

Date: 2007-03-26 07:53 pm (UTC)You know, I have a bad memory for fic titles. I'm much better at remembering the summary. So when I started reading 'Protection' I realized that I already read it some time ago and you're the one who's written it! *embarrassed laugh* Talk about a small world..
So naturally, I had to re-read it! XD
I love your woobie!Lex so much.. And Clark'd POV is just brilliant! <3 I think I'm getting addicted.
Have some Sim!Clex as my appreciation.
Clark: This reminds me of the time a giant Santa Cookie tried to take over the world!
Lex: Really?.. You don't say..

Date: 2007-03-26 08:09 pm (UTC)Um, what I meant was, thanks! Glad you liked my fic :) And feel free to amuse me with more SimClex ;)

Date: 2007-03-26 09:03 pm (UTC)Hehe! Yeah, I didn't believe it myself until I started playing. You can alter a sim's features any way you want, so you could say that I 'shaped' Lex and Clark's faces from scratch. Out of the 4 sims I made Clark was the hardest. :D
I was going to post some pics to my journal, so you can always find more Sim!Clex there! ;)
