Poll.

This for me utterly useless day still isn't over, so let's have a random poll about narrators.

For the purpose of the poll, let's just assume we're talking about writing that is, in terms of quality, enjoyable. If a story is really good, how do you want it to be told/how to you prefer to tell it?

[Poll #1053749]

I usually write close third, although I sometimes stray into omniscient territory, and I've recently tried some first person narration. As a reader I have no real preference, except that omniscient narrators should either be recognizably unreliable (yep, I can't think of an example for this, but I'd like to see one) or tongue-in-cheek. Or, well, old.

[Poll #1042372]

This poll is brought to you by the realization that four out of five of my stories could probably end with "and then they had sex." I'm not just lazy - quite often writing porn is simply dead boring, at least when it's "and then they had sex" porn: sex scenes that have no particular tension between the characters or anything. Most often these occur at the end of a story, after all the issues of a romantic plot are resolved. It's either riding off into the sunset or porn.

I'm nearly done with my fic for the CLFF. The skeleton story stands, I'm just adding stuff. I don't know how good it's going to be, mostly because there are some points that are going to require major suspension of disbelief.

On the other hand, we're talking about Smallville-verse, where Martha Kent will soon be president. If you can believe in Superman, you can believe in wonky politics!

Face it, none of us are entirely happy with our show. SV is often compared to an abusive boyfriend. It can be pretty and engaging and it has had its moments of greatness. It has wonderful, iconic characters, but they're not always handled well.

A lot of us spend more time complaining than fanning these days. So, tell me, what *do* you want to see on the show?

If you could choose your own Season 7, what would it look like?

Imagine there were no budget restrictions! Imagine, for a second, that the writing were excellent. Who should get more screen-time? Who should leave? What pairings, guest stars, plot devices and villains do you want to see?

Big Damn Season Seven Poll )

Tell me about your ideas! Or tell me what you fear will happen! This whole idea, btw, was inspired by [livejournal.com profile] the_rejection :)

ETA: For the creative ones: give me a short summary of an episode you'd like to see. Anything goes!

I keep noticing that my f-list is older than I assume it to be. My default assumption for LJ peoples' age is very self-centred: "twenty-something". But it's rude to go around and ask people their age, and also, I'm lazy. So, poll.

[Poll #965813]

Do you think that SV fandom in general is relatively older than other fandoms? Or is it LJ as a medium?

Also, a SV question: Does Clark know he gets his powers from the yellow sun? Does he know Krypton had a red sun?

Let's have a vote!

[Poll #929823]

Also, what are your overall favourite episodes of Smallville? And what are your favourite meteor mutants?

I - like everyone - love the Pilot. I like "Hourglass" a lot. "Shattered"/"Asylum" are very effective episodes and among the best of SV, but watching them is almost too painful. I adore all S5 episodes from "Arrival" to "Lexmas", as well as "Cyborg". In S6 I like "Justice" and "Labyrinth" best. My favourite mutant, aside from Lex and our latest mutant, is Kyle Tippet.
