Lex scans - part one!

On
attaccabottoni's Christmas Wishlist I saw that she wishes for Lex comic scans! This is something I can supply. A lot of the comics I myself own are in German, so the scans here weren't scanned by me, but uploading is hard work, too!
I've decided to make a post every weekend until Christmas, so that's five posts, starting today.
Today's Lex scans are from a random Elseworlds comic titled "Age of Wonder", which is indeed pretty wonderful. It's a historical AU in which members of the JLA/JSA are all scientists or inventors. Among the intial group of science heroes are also Nicola Tesla and Lex Luthor.
One day, at the Expo, Clark Kent makes his debut. Clark in this story is just an all around smiley, kind, nice and awesome guy.
Lex is the only one who refuses to fall for his charms:

Isn't that panel of him being annoyed the cutest thing ever?
Time goes by, and everyone is "Yay, science!" except for Lex, who is "Yay! Making money with science!" Clark marries reporter Lois Lane (which also frustrates Lex, so he goes on trip with his fancy new airship to do science.)

But because he's Lex Luthor, and can't ever have good luck, they lose control over their craft.
Lex struggles, but in the end he has to be saved by the science heroes and Superman. His beautiful phallic airship explodes. And as you can see, he is starting to lose his hair because of radiation poisoning from radium.

This is probably a nod to Lex's Silver Age origin, where Clark also saves him from a burning science project and Lex never forgives him. Lex fully loses his hair, and although Lois and Clark try to cheer him up while he recovers, it is too late. Bald = evil, there is no escape. Lex will destroy them all - with science and capitalism!

Lex's story doesn't stop here, but from there on it's just generic evil Lex, so I didn't include that. For JLA/JSA fans, or fans of science and good comics, this rest is still awesome, though!

Date: 2007-11-25 10:43 pm (UTC)Eeeeee~!
Date: 2007-11-26 09:11 am (UTC)The faces Clark makes around Lex are also cute.
Who's the guy with the spear/staff thingee?
And OF COURSE Lex would work with Tesla. *draws hearts around scientist Lex*
YAY, MORE LEX! *throws confetti*
Re: Eeeeee~!
Date: 2007-11-26 10:47 am (UTC)And the guy with the staff/lightning rod is Starman, one of the Golden Age DC heroes. These days the rod belongs to Stargirl, and there's another Starman around who is crazy, from the future and has gravity related powers *shrugs*
I've got scientist Lex scans, and business Lex, and president Lex. (Btw, have you read All Star Superman? If you have, I won't post those.)

Date: 2007-11-26 12:26 pm (UTC)My sister had asked me the other day if there were more Lexes with nipple lasers. Now I could show her a Lex who eats fruit and has an umbrella-equipped wheelchair. *beams happily*
