30 Days of Star Trek

RPG friends and I have started a project lately - watch (all of) Star Trek. Well, we've started Voyager and TOS, I'm not sure we'll ever get around to TNG and we've already nixed Enterprise. So how about a Trek meme?
1 - Which Star Trek is your favorite?
Deep Space Nine. It has something that very few TV shows do: a plot that feels neither rushed nor dragged out forever. It starts a bit slow, okay, and there are filler episodes, but once it gets rolling, wow. And it has a greater number of great characters than any other Trek series.
2 - Who is your favorite character?
Picard. He's not a terribly interesting character, I guess, but he's admirable, charismatic and played by Patrick Stewart - plus he has some really great episodes about him, like "Tapestry" and "All Good Things" and "Family" and "Inner Light". I also really like the Doctor on VOY, Spock, Q, Data, Quark, Garak, Kira, Odo and Seven of Nine.
3 - Who is your least favorite character?
Those boring dudes on Enterprise. All of them. And Neelix. Chakotay is deadly dull plus a stereotype, but he's so dull he doesn't even annoy me very much.
4 - What was the first Star Trek series you watched?
TNG, I think. The first Star Trek thing I watched were the movies, though.
5 - What was the first episode/movie you watched?
Something with Worf/a Klingon in it. When you're really tiny, Klingons can be scary.
6 - Your favorite canon pairing? (Canon being the series and the movies, including the reboot.)
Picard/Q. If we're counting possibly one-sided platonic. If not, Odo/Kira (I ship them very much especially while Odo is pining for her). I also like Doctor/Seven, because they're both not quite human (the Doctor more so than Seven) and both of them very inexperienced and it would have been a 1000 times more appropriate and sweet than Chakotay/Seven.
7 - Your favorite non-canon pairing?
If you deny the canonicity of Q's enormous god-crush on Picard, then that. Or Garak/Bashir. Or Kirk/Spock.
8 - Your favorite actor/actress? (Not the same as character.)
This is hard to say, because I don't really care much about the actors. George Takei is a cool guy, and Brent Spiner seems pretty cool, too.
9 - What's your favorite episode?
TOS: I only really remember those I watched recently. "Charlie X" was pretty awesome, especially when Uhura sings.
TNG: "Tapestry" or "All Good Things"
DS9: Series 4 - 7 ;)
VOY: "Tinker, Tailor, Doctor, Spy"
10 - What's your favorite species? (Humans are a species as well.)
Holograms should count as a species. If not, humans.
11 - What's your least favorite species? (See question 9 about species.)
All those boring Delta Quadrant aliens of the week.
12 - What's your favorite funny moment?
Every monster ever from TOS.
13 - What's your favorite dramatic moment?
Picard's speech in "The Measure of a Man", the bit in "Best of Both Worlds" where they save Picard, the entire DS9 episode "Dogs of War".
14 - What's your favorite Star Trek quote?
"Starfleet was founded to seek out new life – well, there it sits!"
15 - How did you get into Star Trek?
My mother. A natural inclination towards geek-dom.
16 - Are you involved with Star Trek fandom?
Very occasionally.
17 - Have you read any of the books? If so, which ones?
Some, but they were terrible.
18 - If you could be any species in the Star Trek universe, what would you be?
I'd like to be a hologram, if I could have a mobile emitter. They're immortal, they have uncharted possibilites of growth, and unlike Data, there's many of them. Of course, I'd have to start a revolution to get civil rights...
19 - How did the Star Trek reboot affect you?
I went to see the movie, it was good.
20 - Of the minor characters (one shots, not the recurring ones) who's your favorite?
I can't really think of a minor character who I like who isn't also a recurring character.
21 - Which Star Trek food would you want to try at least once?
Bajoran. I think they'd have nice food. Or the stuff Sisko cooks except that's not really Star Trek food, I think it's cajun?
22 - Which Star Trek world would you want to visit at least once?
Earth in the TNG/DS9/VOY era.
23 - Is there anything you'd want to change about Star Trek? Why?
Voyager would be infinitely better if it was a little more like Battlestar Galactica. I know, Star Trek isn't supposed to be grim and gritty. But have the Maquis and Star Fleet distrust each other, and the occasional uprising and throwing out of airlocks, and the Doctor's hologram-ness really adressed properly, and people acting less like a military vessel's crew and more like humanity in BSG and it would be a GREAT series. The main problem I have with Voyager is that it's so NICE and in their situation, I can't accept it the way I accept the niceness of TNG.
24 - Is there anything about Star Trek that has disappointed you?
Enterprise.
25 - How has Star Trek changed you?
It may have influenced my moral development a little, and it gave me an interest in sci-fi. Also, DS9 was one of the shows that massively improved my English.
26 - Lots of Star Trek Parodies out there. Which do you dig?
The German "Traumschiff Surprise" is equal parts annoying and amusing.
27 - What would you cross over with Star Trek?
I keep wanting to cross over Star Trek and new BSG.
28 - If you could change one thing about Star Trek, what would it be?
Wait, we had this question before. Okay, though... Kirk's death in Generations, and Data's death in Nemesis. Kirk should have had his last stand in his own era, and Data shouldn't have died at all.
29 - If you could tell Gene Roddenberry one thing, Star Trek related or not, what would it be?
Thanks for everything, Mr Roddenberry, and that was some damn progressive stuff you did in the Sixties.
What's you favourite movie?
The Whales. Er, I mean, The Voyage Home. Also, the one with God because I'm mad like that.
