Kids! Adorable Kids!
Aug. 9th, 2006 05:06 pmI'm working with kids (6 to 9 year-olds) in a vacation on a farm type of thing with horses and goats and pigs and all that stuff and it is soooo much fun. Children are adorable! I have no siblings and never did something like this before and never thought it'd be this easy! At that age, they apparently think you're cool simply because you're an adult. The coolest thing is when you're sitting around, watching them draw and play and stuff and then suddenly one of them comes and just glomps you or jumps on your lap and makes you read them a story - they have zero body contact issues :D
Other stuff:
Yesterday I was at the uni, for my interview with the Bioscience faculty (you have to do that in Heidelberg to get accepted as a student for biology) and I guess it went well, but I'm not really enthusiastic about it right now... I want to become a teacher, even more than before, but biology... it's probably really boring and really hard in the first few years and I kind of hate labs. My other subjects would be English and Ethics/Philosophy, which I'm much, much more enthusiastic about. It's just that with the fun subjects, your prospects of getting a job aren't so great...
And we've got a dog. He doesn't belong to us, we're just taking care of him for a few months, but we've got a dog. Who doesn't get along with your cats...
And on Monday, our RPG group tried the eighties RPG "Marvel Superheroes", which is cool because you can play characters like Spidey or Wolverine or Professor Xavier (alas, our gamemaster insists that we play "good characters" so I didn't get to play Magneto or Mystique, but I did play Spidey and found out that in this game system, his powers suck - he only has webs and spider sense.) It's really simple, too, which is great for me, because I find even D&D complicated ;-P
