Title: In The Blink Of An Eye

Summary: Some things are forbidden for a reason. Of course they have to test it.
Beneath him, Koschei is a bow bent almost to the breaking point, a star compressed so tightly that he is on the verge of collapse. One of Koschei's hands is clawing at the pillow, the other is buried in Theta's hair, pulling painfully at it. His lips are parted, he has caught his breath moments ago and not yet released it, his hips buck up against Theta's thrusts, his thighs tremble. And then suddenly his eyes fly open wide, wide, at once dark and terribly bright, as the tension breaks, the star goes nova, and that perfect moment on the brink of release takes him over. That moment of almost-there, of timelessness and urgency, that moment that is good enough to die for it, eternity in the blink of an eye, sublime and fleeting. It rises, mounts, crests, crashes.
And they're back to a second before the peak. Tension, tightly coiled, trembling limbs, held breaths and then floating perfection, complete synchronicity, and this time the end comes faster, harder, wilder, fuelled by the echo of the first climax. It is brilliant, better than anything, no wonder it is forbidden – why doesn't everybody do this?
And again they return, gasping as soon as they're back, back before the moment. Theta's rhythm falters from too much ecstasy, he collapses too soon, comes in messy jerks before Koschei is quite there. Theta gasps, "That was - "
And they're back. Back on the event horizon, the edge, the top of the hill, the zenith of fucking. Beneath him Koschei is still, his eyes staring, both his hands grasping at Theta.
"Enough," Theta laughs helplessly, shuddering in the throes of another confused climax, and this time there's almost a second after, a calm after the storm, before Koschei pulls at the strings of time and they return to do it all over again.
Panic makes the next time even more cruel and intense, and they rush in blindly, almost skipping past that singular moment of stillness. Theta's cry is wordless, his twitching flesh out of control, but there's no trace of pain on Koschei's face, only blankness. Koschei almost never agrees to bottom, but considering that he's the one controlling the time loop, their positions hardly matter in the overall balance of power. He takes them back, again, like a man running amok, stabbing and stabbing again at an already dying victim.
This time Theta flinches away, shaking his head in mute terror, and Koschei lets go of him, lets his hands both fall onto the bed, just lies there, smiles, takes them back to the moment.
"No," Theta pants, clawing at him, and throws back his head as he comes again, violently, and feels skin tearing and something hot and wet coating him. "I'm sorry – !"
There are laws against trapping another Time Lord in a loop. Now Theta understands why there are also laws against letting another Time Lord take control of your timeline. With the strings in his hands, the strings that Theta gave up, surrendered, Koschei can do anything – if he chooses to make this moment eternity, then it will be, and it will be perfect until it destroys them, will drown their minds in breathless wonder.
Again they're torn back, and this time Theta simply stays still, they stare at each other, plunge with their gazes into the spaces behind their eyes. Again, and Theta closes his eyes in desperation. Again, and maybe again, he hardly can tell, again, and he sinks down in defeat, again, and he kisses the cool flesh of Koschei's neck, again, and he whispers, begs, "Again."
And then there's nothing but gasping bodies in the sheets and racing hearts, and Theta shivers as he lies there, but it's over. Time runs straight again, and the moment is over, and it will never come back.
