This episode had it all: Clarkdickery, Petedickery, Lanadickery, Lexdickery, random superpowers for one episode, complete lack of logic. Very Silver Age Superboy.
I think the only three people who weren't completely WTF this week were Lex, Chloe and Kara.
1) Grant is still unmentioned.
2) Clark and Lana are the dumbest of the dumb. Aren't they, like, the main characters? Then why do they act like complete asshats to everyone? WTF is their reason to keep the secret from Kara? That she won't believe it? OH PLEASE. Kara was so right to leave them, and, hello, they didn't leave her much of a choice than to go to Lex. I would say they're OOC because the producers want that Lex-Kara thing, but no. This is exactly how Clark and Lana would act.
3) I hated that they brought Pete back just to show us how lame Pete is. At first when he started to go around talking about how he was going to make his powers public I thought, "Wait... I wrote that fic!" It would have been perfect if they had used Pete's courage and, er, mutant pride to emphasize Clark and Lana's mean cowardice in this episode. Instead, they gave us patronizing asshat Clark and lame-o Pete.
Don't they realize that in the end, superheroes will go public in this universe? And then Clark will look like a complete idiot? And Pete will say, I told you so?
4) If Lex is smart enough to know Lionel has the bracelet, then why the hell has he still not... ah, forget it. At least he got some useful security guy and managed to ensnare Kara. Enough supervillain points for one week.
5) A new nonsensical storyline! Stars in the Luthor family crest! I'm sure eventually they're going to reveal Lex's evil destiny. And we're all going to be so surprised.
I didn't hate this episode, but only because it was so utterly ridiculous.

Date: 2008-03-16 01:43 pm (UTC)I haven't watched yet only because my network was running stupid F@*$'ing basketball and didn't bother to move the regular scheduling down. Everyone that has written a version of what was aired I'm positive has done a better job then TPTB ever could.

Date: 2008-03-16 04:43 pm (UTC)I will always love how the "good guys" know that meteor mutation tends to cause lapses in judgment and Must Be Stopped, but Lex is still Wrongy McEvil for trying to stop them. It never gets old!
ARGH! I have to hand it to Smallville. I've never had a show that's able to so consistently inspire emotional reaction. Right now it's mostly intense surprise that it's still on the air. On the other hand, at least it makes the sweetly incompetent writing of SGA look like Shakespeare...
