Because J'onn is living as a female or because he's married to Lionel? J'onn's gender is a bit ambiguous in DC canon, on the one hand he had a "wife" and children on Mars, but on the other hand he occasionally masquerades as a woman just for fun. This was the "other" I mentioned in the story notes ;P
It's more that J'onn is married to Lionel - just uck! That being said it does follow, after a fashiion, current show canon where J'onn and Lionel are "working" together to protect Clark. Still, it's Lionel and really just bah - all this relative morality is so tiring. ;P
It's not a real wolf, though. It's Kyla Willowbrook, the Kawatchee girl from "Skinwalker".
I figured. I am curious as to how you are going to work the Kawatchee legend stuff in to the story, when there are scads of Kryptonian people already on Earth. But I guess if none of them are manifesting powers then there is no conflict.
