They give me the hope and happiness I need to survive to another Smallville episode with tragic!Lex and self-serving, hypocritical!Clark (with a side of stoopid!Lana and masochistic!Chloe to boot).
Oh dear. Was "Promise" that bad? Ah, well, we had it coming with a season that was this good so far.
I'm now at a point where I feel equal sympathy for both Lex and Clark. They've both made mistakes and they both believe they're doing the right thing. Clark is stupid, yeah, and I wish he'd just once in his life consider how things must look for Lex (and Lana) but he has so many people in his life supporting his wrong view of Lex (Lionel, Jonathan, Chloe, Ollie...) that it's no wonder he doesn't question it.
