I meant the somewhat derogatory use of BNF, because you mentioned "arrogant bitches on high horses". There are lots of well known, popular fans in SV fandom, that's for sure, but I would call them BNFs, because while most of us would probably secretly love to be called a BNF, some people might also find it insulting.
For example, I could theoretically call you, svmaria and svmadelyn BNFs. You are/were all three very active in SV fandom and I'm sure most Clexers would recognize your names. But I'm also sure that at least one (but probably more) of you would be insulted at being put into the same category.
But my standards of BNFness - in a neutral, non-derogatory way - might be also be a little high. For me, real BNFs are fans like astolat or Cassandra Claire(which doesn't mean that they're at all alike - I don't know them - just that they're both well known beyond just one fandom. They're also both published authors.)
But yeah, I have a talent for insulting people without meaning it.
