You know, a good writer can take any tired cliché and make it fresh; and I believe that you've done that here.

Alas, poor Clark, how he tries to find a solution that *doesn't* involve Lex. You've made him alternately sympathetic, pathetic, funny and almost terrifying at the same time. All of which Clark *is*.

Ah, and Lex:

"Jesus, Clark," he could hear Lex say, low and raw against his collarbone, "You have no idea how fucking wrong my life always goes."

"Wrong?" Clark asked and was surprised when it came out anxious.

Lex rakes a hand along Clark's side, from his ribs to his hipbone, not gentle, but almost possessive. "I wanted this. I waited three damn years for this, told myself I couldn't have it, told myself I could wait, and then – then it all went to hell and I can't even hate you properly. And you're the best damn lay of my life."

As self-centered as he is, this is quite the confession for him. And even though he feels he's negotiating with the upperhand after he learns that Clark's imprinted, he's already said this. He won't always have the upperhand. I like it when the power shifts between them. *g*

Good stuff!
