Megamind: a movie you ought to watch

Hmmm, deadline in five hours, I guess I'll make a post to LJ...

Was unhappy all day yesterday, but then in the evening I decided to watch a random movie and settled on "Megamind".

OMG, all the superhero fans, Clex shippers and enemy-pairing-likers on my flist ought to watch this movie. It felt handtailored to my needs :D The plot: when his planet explodes, his parents manage to rocket little Megamind into space to save him, telling him that it's his destiny to... well, he didn't get that part. But because he lands in a prison and is raised by inmates, and then really unpopular in school, Megamind decides that it's his destiny to be evil. Fast forward to his adulthood, where he's become a pretty cool supervillain. He has Delgado's high-collared cape from Frontier in Space, that's how supervillainous he is. And a beard. His nemesis is the extremely popular Metroman, whom, accidentally, he manages to kill within the first 15 minutes of the movie. This is devastating for Megamind (after conquering the city, he sneaks into the Metroman museum at night to bring flowers. And maybe cry a little.) Then he meets Metroman's reporter not-girlfriend, Roxanne, who for some reason is much, much more awesome than Lois. They have an extremely cute romance because they bond about how much they miss Metroman (Megamind may fall in love with Roxanne, but he's also massively gay for Metroman. There's a bit where they find this fluffy white cape and he goes, "Oooh, I remember when he wore this!" and snuggles up to it.) and then Megamind gets the terrible idea to "create" a new nemesis for himself...

I may have squealed in delight a few times. Also I think I've read this fic, or at least elements of it, in several different fandoms. Has anyone else seen it?
