rambly post is rambly
May. 7th, 2011 01:04 pmHave finished two more Bernice Summerfield novels, "Dragon's Wrath" and "Tears of the Oracle", both by Justin Richards. Still pleased by his writing style - his only real fault is that he clearly loves Brax to an embarrassing degree, which I'm very willing to forgive.
Katy, you were right about Dragon's Wrath, btw, there is a LOT of Brax in the second half and he solves all your problems like a ninja, and is ridiculously competent at everything, even running and fighting. Benny doesn't exactly get a lot to do. ( spoilers for Dragon's Wrath and Gallifrey S4 )
Then there's "Tears of the Oracle". Dellah is kaputt, for reasons I missed but can sort of guess from this book, and it gets a little bit epic. ( Tears of the Oracle, also spoilers for Benny up to S11 )
Mostly my thoughts about all this are that I ship Brax with the Bennyverse, that is, I want him to stay there, and happily live on his collection and not pine for Romana, and ideally everyone else would also be happy and alive and they'd all be friends forever, particularly Benny, who deserves not to have horrible things happen to her all the time.
