I may be writing the dullest fic in existence. I don't know, maybe it is extremely entertaining - as a regular Gallifrey episode I think it would be not bad, although it lacks Brax and Romana (not entirely, Romana is there ranting for a bit, and she will do some science, and Brax, as he is wont to do ever since I listened to Benny, hijacked the plot while not even being in this fic), but it's dreadfully gen and plotty and also looong (12000 words and not finished, guys. This is one of the longest things I've ever written in Who fandom). It reminds me of A Mutually Satisfying Agreement, my D/M rewrite of Frontier in Space/Planet of the Daleks, which maybe didn't suffer so much from being gen as from being a bit rubbish in the end as a D/M fic. Also, people talk too much. Have an excerpt:
“Enough,” Leela groaned, “this tale is making my head hurt! Tell us what our enemies are planning, so we may stop them.”
Encourage me, people. Tell me that you have always craved long plotty Gallifrey almost-gen fic.
