I'm back in the sunny but frosty North - I didn't realize how cold it was up here until I got off the train yesterday! But it does feel like home.

London was a mixed bag. The scholarship meeting was a mix of boring and annoying, what with a good 50% of the students attending being either arrogant rich kids or studying in Cambridge or both (surprisingly few from Oxford, though) and the talks and workshops being mostly disguised recruiting events for McKinsey. London itself was as delightfully overwhelming as ever, but I wish I had had a little more time for it, instead I was constantly hurrying somewhere. British trains are really good though, very smooth journeys.

The best part of the trip was definitely meeting people, I met [livejournal.com profile] aralias and [livejournal.com profile] x_los on Saturday and we had incredibly good tea and then boardgames and a Merlin episode and awesome curry (my best take-away food experience in England so far!) and Katy gave me Benny books and I'm definitely over my shyness of meeting online people now. On Sunday I met with [livejournal.com profile] gnine and despite not really having been in the same fandom for about two years now, we found lots and lots to talk about and I only regretted that [livejournal.com profile] xparrot couldn't be there. Now I really want to meet more fannish people!
