like Lassie, but with zombies

Head: still have a cold. Adding absinthe did not help.
Last night was end-of-term party with a couple of friends / bad taste movie night at the uni in Karlsruhe. One movie was shitty and we went to get pizza instead, but two of them were gold.
Bubba-hotep
Elvis and President Kennedy live in a nursing home in Texas, but no one believes it is really them. (Probably because Elvis is supposed to be dead and the guy who says he is Kennedy is black. Why that is so isn't really explained. But they believe each other.) Old!Elvis and Old!Kennedy fight an evil, soul-sucking Egyptian mummy which, for no reason in particular, wears cowboy boots and a mexican hat.
Fido
A heartwarming story of a boy and his zombie. Set in AU-Fifties, this is an America with a zombie problem. A cloud from outer space came to Earth. Now everyone who dies turns into flesh-eating zombies. But after the Zombie Wars, people have adapted and turned the zombies into tame pets/mindless slaves. It's back to idyllic small-town life! Little Timmy has no friends at school. But then one day his mom buys a zombie! Timmy befriends the zombie and names him Fido. They play ball in the park and Fido scares the evil bullies from school away! But unfortunately, the zombie gets loose one day and eats and old woman. For a while, Timmy can hush it up, but then the zombie gets taken away. Now he, his mom, their neighbour and their neighbour's zombie girlfriend/mindless slave have to free Fido! It's like Lassie, only with zombies, and it's beautifully made with Fifties cars and music and costumes.
