There are people who will read the first page of a book and then finish it, not matter how stupid or boring it is, simply because they have started it. I'm not one of them. But occasionally the number of started but not finished things becomes rather ridiculous.

1) At least a dozen fics. Instead of finishing any, I just keep starting more. At least be glad I'm not turning them into posted WIPs.
2)"Doctor Faustus" by Thomas Mann. It are serious German literature. And actually not only good but entertaining, except it's like the opposite of The Princess Bride: good story WITH all the endlessly long boring bits. (Srsly: protagonist and narrator went to several lectures about Beethoven as kids. Instead of just telling us this, the narrator relates the lectures WORD BY WORD. And goes on to do so with several of their university lectures.) Also, it has the most amusing thing: an auctorial narrator who is part of the story but not the main character and quite obviously terribly gay for that main character.
2) "Blind Woman, Weeping Willow" by Haruki Murakami. A collection of short stories. I read two so far. One way okay but rather blah. The other, called "A perfect day for kangaroos" must be the single most pointless piece of writing ever. Japanese are weird.
3)"The History of the World in 10 1/2 chapters" by Julian Barnes. First chapter: most entertaining piece of fiction from the POV of a woodworm ever.
4)"Dead Man Walking", Torchwood ep. Brilliant so far. And this is Torchwood, and Torchwood was perfectly meh right until Martha showed up ("Reset" was awesome, too.) I see a pattern here. "Smith&Jones" was the ep that made me fall in love with Doctor Who, after all.
5)"The Ambassadors of Death", Third Doctor ep. Good. Funky music.

Books I have finished this year so far:
1. The Time Traveller's Wife
2. Gregorius, der guote sündaere
3. The Princess Bride (birthday present by BFF, who is soulmate)

Movies I have seen lately:
1. The Boondock Saints (orgasmic violence, slashy fun)
2. Die Hard 4
3. Sin City (die, Frank Miller, die)
