I passed the Phonetics exam as well! Yay me!

mahaliem used Valentine's day as a reason to tell SV fandom how much she loves it - I'm going to do that as well. I love you guys. You're the most open and welcoming fandom I have ever encountered, very social and hardly elitist. You're productive and optimistic, able to find something nice even in a time when our main ship can be very depressing. You're helpful and generous, and a very good mix of different kinds of people and personalities. Lately you have found a taste for wank, but I've never been flamed here - the feedback you give is overwhelmingly great, funny, smart and detailed. Even if my interest in SV waned - which it doesn't, so far - I would stay because it's so nice here.

It really is a fandom that feels like a community.

SV isn't a small fandom, but you have the feeling that after a while, you have at least heard of most people in it, especially those that are active. That's quite a difference from, say, HP, or the completely decentralized anime fandom. And I also love that there's so much overlapping between SV and comics fandom, and as a writer it's perfectly okay to straddle the fence between the two.
