bagheera_san: (speak no evil)
Hope you all had a nice Halloween!

Our little party was nice, we made toast and cocktails (Pina Colada that tasted awful, for example...) and watched some horror stuff. "Curse of the Puppet Master" is the gayest horror movie ever (and one of the funniest), and it stars a big, hunky, rather dumb farmboy wearing flannel, who is naked but for his tighty whities for much of the film (either tied up and squirming or on his bed and squirming), so it amused me greatly. It's like the opposite of all the usual horror movies where hot chicks run around scantily dressed. And then we watched the first episode of Buffy S7, just because it was on TV. I'd forgotten how hot crazy!Spike is. This morning we had a very nice breakfast :)

ETA: LOL, I just wikied the director of "Curse of the Puppet Master". He is known for making homoerotic horror movies that invert the usual stereotypes! So I was seeing subtext that was actually there.

The fic I'm writing for the Doujinshi challenge is still going very well, but it's ridiculously research intensive. I just realized that the biology involved in having a tropical Antarctic country is rather complicated. I think the Lemurians need something like artificial sunlight for those Antarctic winters - or maybe they should just control the day/night cycles completely. (How, though? This reminds me of the latter Space Odyssey books by Arthur C. Clarke, where they invent small artificial suns for the planets and moon further from the sun. But they can hardly hide a whole *sun* down there.) Maybe I should just quietly ignore the issue. It's magic!
