It's the last week of spring break, I'm slightly sick, suffering from writer's block and excruciatingly bored.

So I went to look at my very huge folder of SV fic to look at old stuff, written before I posted "Protection". Do you like your own fic when you reread it after a while? I often do. There are two pieces I decided I could post. One I'd like to try and write at least a bit more, so it isn't completely unfinished and the other... well. It's a part of Elseworlds, but written long before Elseworlds even existed, last summer. Then, when I posted Elseworlds, I discarded this idea, but now that I've dug up the file again, I have no idea why. It's fun. I even sort of have a plot for it.

Title: Beware My Might
Rating: PG
Set in: Early season 4
Length: 2387

There was a boom, louder than a gunshot fired right next to him, and the sky tore apart in a streak of fire and noise. )

To celebrate the fact that we now have a DVD player at home (our first... I know. I just got a cell phone this year and I still never use it) I went and rent two DVDs. Since I'm a hopeless superhero fangirl, it was "Fantastic Four" and "Batman Begins". I was a Marvel fangirl before I became a DC fangirl, but read almost exclusively X-Men. My only exposure to the FF was "1602", which is the coolest Marvel comic ever. In general, though, the Marvel movies of the last years were better than the DC movies (well, there were more of them anyways.) My Top 5 of recent comic book movies would look something like this:

1. X-Men 2
2. X-Men 1
3. Spiderman 1
4. Spiderman 2
5. Batman Begins
Not so great were FF, Superman Returns and X3. Oh, and not to talk of Daredevil, which I couldn't even watch, so terrible was it.

Now, 7 facts about FF:
1. von Doom rules. Julian McMahon isn't all *that* great, but he was still the only thing that made Charmed at all bearable. I felt extremely sorry for Doom at the end. Also, I want him to meet Lex. Any incarnation of Lex. Doc Octopus could come, too, and the Norman Osborne.
2. Doom/Reed/science forever :D
3. Sue Storm sucks. I'm sure most male viewers thought the same ;P And wtf exactly is her power?
4. The Thing was unexpectedly the most sympathetic of the FF. He has the typical "disfigured villain" origin, but he's a hero, and he's the perfect combination of tragedy and comedy.
5. Reed might be a dick in "Civil War", but when he's dorky and sciency and oblivious to Sue, I like him. I think Doom should just chain him to a lab table somewhere as his science pet.
6. Johnny Storm should have been played by someone blond and someone prettier... hey, the guy who plays Ollie would have been cool!
7. The movie was too long, too... disjointed, and didn't have any kind of message or feeling. Also, I never really felt the FF as a team worked all that well.

I love DVDs because I can watch them in English :D
